At least five people including three NATO service members and two NATO civilians were killed following a roadside bomb explosion in southern Afghanistan on Saturday.
NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) following a statement announced, ?Three International Security Assistance Force service members and two coalition civilians died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan today.?
The statement did not disclose further information regarding the exact location of the incident and nationalities of the deceased soldiers and civilians.
International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) generally do not disclose identities of the NATO soldiers killed in Afghanistan saying, ?It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.?
No group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
Taliban militants and other insurgents groups frequently use improvised explosive device as the weapon of the their choice to target Afghan and coalition security forces.
Troops mainly from United States and United Kingdom are based in southern provinces of Afghanistan.
